In the game, you play as Cliff Secord, a stunt pilot who finds a mysterious jetpack that gives him incredible flying abilities. As the Rocketeer, Cliff must battle gangsters and Nazis to save his girlfriend and prevent the jetpack from falling into the wrong hands.

The game is a side-scrolling action game with platforming elements. Cliff can fly through the air using his jetpack, shoot his guns to take down enemies, and swing from poles and ropes to navigate through levels. The game features six levels, each with a boss fight at the end.
