Kanon Wakeshima, a cello-vocalist, performs the ending theme for To LOVE-Ru Darkness. This charming ending song, with its unique sound reminiscent of a spilled toy box and a distinctive vocal style, expresses the lovely antics of the characters.
This release also features a double A-side track, including Sakura Meikyuu, the theme song for the PSP game Fate/Extra CCC.
About Kanon Wakeshima
- Started playing the cello at the age of 3 and grew up immersed in classical music.
- Debuted as a cello-vocalist in 2008.
- Released singles Still Doll and Suna no Oshiro, which became ending themes for the anime Vampire Knight.
- In 2009, released her first album, Shinshoku Dolce.
- In 2010, released her second album, Shoujo Jikake no Libretto.
- In 2012, wrote the lyrics for Unite, the new ending theme for the anime Accel World (performed by Sachika Misawa).
Kanon has also been active as a cellist in other collaborations:
- Appeared in the music video for With You by Yuzu.
- Participated as a cellist in Tsukiko Amano's album Ten no Ki and appeared in the music video.
Her international achievements include:
- Performed in an in-store live event at France’s largest media chain FNAC, setting attendance records.
- Participated in Japan Expo 2009 in Paris, the largest anime convention in the U.S., Otakon, and events such as AM2 in the U.S., ACGHK in Hong Kong, Hyper Japan in London, and a European tour in November 2011.
- In April 2012, performed at Sakura-Con in Seattle, drawing an audience of over 4,000.
